Our First Home

In 2014 The Overland Park Arboretum introduced a new feature to the annual Luminary Walk, Fairy and Gnome homes. A small grouping of tiny houses festively decorated with natural materials found throughout the Arboretum sat on top a wall in the Erickson Garden. They were an instant crowd favorite and the beginning of an annual display. Throughout the years this display grew in size and style. Some homes made way for new creations while others remained but renovated. This house was one of the original designs and the only one currently on display. Every year it arrived sporting a new roof,or door, windows or landscape giving it a fresh look from the previous year. I have enjoyed creating a new style for this lovely home for many years including the addition of windows giving us the chance to peek inside this magical home. After 9 years it is time to pass this house onto a new home. My wish to the new homeowners is many happy memories and new stories created from this artsy, fun little house.
